A First-Person Story From 1917 Corinth Ave to Walnut and Beyond
Every so often, a real estate transaction becomes more than a sale or a purchase—it becomes the start of a relationship that grows in ways you never saw coming. That’s exactly what happened with a home I listed years ago at 1917 Corinth Ave, and it’s a story that has shaped the way I think about long-term client partnerships.
It All Started at 1917 Corinth Ave
When Ken first called me, he was ready to sell his 4-bedroom, 5-bath, 2,541 sq. ft. home in the San Gabriel Valley and begin the next chapter of his life. My role as his listing agent was to make the process smooth, strategic, and stress-free.
We prepared the home thoughtfully, navigated the market conditions, and presented the property in a way that highlighted its strengths. The buyers ended up being a nearby neighbor—the Hua Family—who were drawn not just to the home itself but also to the professionalism and clarity surrounding the transaction.
The sale closed successfully, and everyone walked away feeling confident and supported. At that point, I thought the story had ended.
I didn’t realize it was just beginning.
Helping Ken Upsell Into His Forever Home
Shortly after the sale, Ken decided he wanted to move into his long-term home—something comfortable, practical, and suited for the life he envisioned in the years ahead. As his buying agent, I helped him find a beautiful property in Walnut that checked all his boxes.
Once we closed, I connected him with the right remodel team—professionals I trust and have worked with for years. Together, we turned that house into the home he had imagined from the start.
Ken later left a brief but meaningful review that meant the world to me:
“Jackie is the best agent I have ever had. She is very professional, knowledgeable, and thoughtful. I am so lucky to have had her to find my dream home. I will definitely recommend her to my friends in the future.”
At the time, I appreciated the kind words, but I had no idea how much they—and the work leading up to them—would matter years later.
When the Hua Family Reached Out Again
Several years passed before I heard from the Hua Family again. What surprised me was that what they remembered most wasn’t just the property at Corinth Ave—it was how I handled the entire transaction.
They remembered the communication. They remembered the organization. They remembered the calm, steady way I worked through details.
Even though I wasn’t their agent at the time, those moments stayed with them.
So when their family needed help with a new real estate project—more complex, more strategic, and involving long-term planning—they reached out to me. They trusted that I could guide them the same way I did during the Corinth Ave sale.
Today, I’m proud to serve as one of their real estate advisors, helping them manage and plan their family portfolio with clarity and confidence.
How I Earn Trust Over Time
Looking back on all of this, I’ve realized that trust is rarely built through one dramatic moment. It’s built through a series of small, steady actions that make people feel supported and informed.
With Ken, it was the way I prepared the listing, broke down the market data, and guided him step-by-step.With the Hua Family, it was the experience of watching me manage a transaction with fairness and transparency.
Those experiences stayed with them long after the keys changed hands.
I’ve learned that people remember how you show up—not just when things are easy, but when they’re complicated. They remember whether you communicate clearly. They remember if you stay patient. They remember if you treat everyone with respect. And sometimes, years later, they come back because of it.
That’s the kind of credibility you can’t manufacture. It has to be earned, slowly and consistently.
One Transaction Can Connect to Many Others
This story reinforced something I’ve believed for years:A single transaction can spark a chain of opportunities—if you serve people with intention and integrity.
What began as helping one homeowner sell his property turned into:
guiding him through the purchase of his dream home
connecting him with the right remodel team
earning a heartfelt recommendation
building trust with the buyers
and eventually being asked to represent the Hua Family on another important family transaction
None of that was planned. It all came from showing up fully each time.
This is why I love working with clients who are thinking about their next chapter—whether that’s selling, upsizing, downsizing, or planning ahead. I don’t just want to be a one-transaction agent. I want to be someone families rely on as their needs evolve.
From Corinth Ave to Walnut and Beyond
What started as a single listing has grown into years of collaboration, trust, and shared success. And that’s what makes this work meaningful to me.
Real estate isn’t just about helping someone move from one home to another. It’s about guiding people through major life decisions with clarity, care, and commitment. It’s about building relationships that last long after the closing date.
If you’re thinking about selling, buying, or mapping out your next steps—and you want someone who sees the bigger picture and stays with you for the long haul—I’d love to be that guide.
